​Dynamic was founded by Paul Kim when he moved to Copenhagen from San Francisco.
​The group assembles 7 jazz pros from all around Copenhagen, each with their own voice and independent projects. The resulting combination of talents bridges genres and epochs into an exciting synthesis. DYNAMIC plays in many venues, clubs and festivals, including the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. Their debut album, This is Dynamic, came out in May 2019.  ​
PAUL KIM
BASS & ARRANGER
Paul studied classical music, jazz and gospel in San Francisco, Germany and France, and has been a singer, conductor and arranger in many award-winning acappella groups and choirs. In Denmark, outside of Dynamic, he conducts Frederiksborg Kammerkor, Gladsaxe Kor and the International Gospel Academy.
ANNE RØRBÆK
MEZZO / ALTO
Anne studied musicology at University of Copenhagen and has toured all over Denmark singing with pop star Lars Lilholt. In addition, she received her PhD in digital communication from Roskilde University and works as a postdoc at IT University of Copenhagen.
KIRSTINE DAHLBERG
Soprano
Kirstine studied musicology at University of Copenhagen and has sung lead with a variety of groups including The Pagsberg Big Band. She teaches music at Copenhagen Open High and conducts vocal groups on the side.

HASSE TANG
DRUMS
Hasse studied in France and Denmark, receiving his degree from the Royal Danish Conservatory for Rhythmic Music. He's an in-demand drummer in the Copenhagen music scene, songwriter, drum builder and teaches both privately and at music school. He is currently in the process releasing his own compositions.
KATRINE AIDT RØMHILD
MEZZO
Kat has been singing jazz professionally since her early twenties. For 10 years, she sang in various groups on France, including Trio Artino. Currently, she sings with Dynamic, The French Jazz Quintet, Youkali, and the Katrine Aidt Rømhild trio/quartet/quintet. She is lead singer with Silver Bigband and freelance soloist with various other bigbands. She has previously conducted choirs and vocal groups.  
NIELS WILHELM KNUDSEN
BASS
Niels is a composer, teacher and bandleader. He has recorded 5 critically-praised CD's of his own compositions, has been featured on many other CD's, and has been named by leading publications as a member of the Danish jazz forefront.

FREDRIK REJLE
GUITAR
Fredrik studied guitar at the Royal Danish Conservatory for Rhythmic Music. He is a composer and teacher, and has led the group Installation of an Electric Stone Age as well as playing for King Size Big Band and and various other groups and teaching at music school.

REPERTOIRE

Dynamic is more than a vocal group. The four strong vocals and the vibrant rhythm group play with every imaginable combination of voices and instruments. From simple Nordic harmonies over funky West Coast grooves to swinging standards and complex Latin rhythms, Paul Kim's catchy and original arrangements present a journey through the landscape of progressive jazz.
 The audience is invited into a warm and entertaining show of the highest musical quality, which radiates with joie de vivre, love for music and with room for both reflection and humor.
 
The band was founded when Paul Kim moved to Denmark from San Francisco, where he had performed and worked with big names in vocal jazz. Since then, Dynamic has made a name for itself on the Danish jazz scene with an enthralling repertoire of both new takes on jazz standards, funk and folk tunes and own compositions. The debut album, This is Dynamic, came out in 2019, followed by Have a Dynamic Christmas (2021), and in the near future an EP with original compositions will show yet another color on the diverse band’s palette. Further down the road, a concept album is taking shape. Outside of Denmark, Dynamic has performed in Germany, France and the USA.

​Dynamic revisits the Giants of Jazz with original vocal arrangements of instrumental songs by, among others, Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie and Billy Strayhorn. ​The band also writes and performs original tunes written by the members.

The group has also played at jazz gudstjenester, arranging and performing requested Danish salmer in new jazz arrangements, as well as many private functions, parties and corporate events.
